Why do I need suspension upgrades?
Handling issues? Love your car but it just lacks something when cornering?
Your car may handle okay when it is standard, but why settle for okay? Why not make your car the best you can make it?
A good suspension set up will have several positive effects on your vehicle, such as improved cornering and stability, crucial when taking to the road or track at faster speeds.
Which suspension upgrades will be beneficial?
One of the first things that pops into people’s heads when the word suspension is thrown around is making the car lower, whether it be by Lowering Springs or Coilovers. This isn’t just the case though! We’ll come to that a bit later on.
Lowering springs, Coilovers, or Suspension Kits are all fantastic choices!
Not only do they give the car a great lower appearance, Springs, Coilovers and Suspension Kits offer a great improvement in handling.
Lowering Springs are a great option to start on!
Aftermarket lowering Springs are often stiffer than OE, this means there is less weight transfer when accelerating hard, braking hard or concerning. This is a huge benefit to your vehicles’ handling and creates an overall, more enjoyable drive!
If you want to take it a bit further, then one of the Suspension Kits we supply may well be your preference!
Suspension Kits are a pairing of some quality Lowering Springs and Performance Dampers. By combining the ability to weight transfer of the Springs with the cleverness of the Dampers, in the way they can enable the car to absorb every little change in the road, you get the perfect pairing.
We know all about Lowering Springs, but what’s so good about Dampers?
Also known as a shock absorber (clues in the name), Dampers are made to reduce the impact of the road terrain and enhance the quality of the ride, in terms of comfort.
Putting both of these together, you create a superb upgrade for your car. They allow you to get both a great looking stance and improved handling.
Now, if you’re wanting to go up a level with your suspension then Coilovers are for you!
Many people have the belief that coilovers don’t offer the refined ride of a quality spring and damper, cheaper kits out there have led to this assumption, however it isn’t always the case. The better the Coilover kit, the better the handling due to the quality of compression and rebound control.
Do you know how Coilovers work?
For those who don’t, here is a little bit of helpful info!
Coilovers are composed of a matched coil spring and damper which are brilliant for absorbing bumps and stabilizing the vehicle.
The coil spring is primarily used to support the cars’ weight and when your car goes over bumps or uneven terrain, the spring compresses and extends, this then creates a better, more comfortable ride.
The damper has a vital job. It controls the fluid movement to dampen the spring’s action, thus making them work great together. The dampers’ piston moves up and down, this is caused when the shock compresses and extends.
There are lots of different types of Coilovers, from Street Comfort to Track based. They are designed to suit the driving style you would be using them for – such as, the KW Clubsport Coilovers which are perfect for the Track because of the rebound and compression forces being able to be adjusted independently and set up for track tyres, bigger brakes (more heat) etc.
This makes Coilovers the ultimate suspension upgrade!

Don’t worry! We haven’t stopped there.
There is so much more!
We have Anti-Roll Bars, Control Arms and Uprated Suspension Bushes.
Anti-Roll Bars:
A great piece of info for a FWD car or a Haldex equipped vehicle is -
A Front ARB helps decrease oversteer.
A Rear ARB helps decrease understeer.
And of course, it reduces body roll!

Control Arms are a perfect upgrade for those wanting to improve their suspension performance.
A good, uprated Control Arm Kit will allow you to achieve a much better alignment – this allows you to have more precise adjustments to your camber and caster. They are also good for providing increased suspension travel – this is fantastic for the improvement of ride quality on uneven ground.
The 034Motorsport Control Arms as an example – these vastly improve the handling and they also tighten up the steering – a huge benefit for both daily driving and track use. The increased control they give you, makes taking those corners slightly more exhilarating!
Other benefits, include increased durability as they are typically made with stronger, higher quality materials and of course, a more controlled driving experience.
We also supply Uprated Bushes such as Powerflex or Superpro.
Having bushes at an increased Durometer (stiffness) can vastly improve the performance of the car’s suspension components.
By stiffening up the vehicle, it can reduce the amount of play and movement of the suspension component they are fitted to.
Why would this be beneficial? It can hugely improve feedback for the driver. When the amount of flexion in the bushes is reduced, in the suspension bushes specifically, the time taken for the chassis to respond can be reduced, creating increased responsiveness from your vehicle.
Another crucial benefit to uprated Bushes is the enhanced road feel - The reduced softness of the bush allows for more direct feedback from the road surface; therefore, it gives you, the driver, a better sense of what your tyres are doing, allowing you to become at one with the car.
