This service needs to be carried out every 40,000 miles.
Your DSG gearbox has two computer controlled clutches that work with very fine tolerances. When the gearbox oil is dirty it will affect the performance and damage other components. Dirty oil can overheat the gearbox and cause the clutches to burn out it will also stop the gear change being as smooth and eventually cause the system to fail all together.

The Service Schedule for this is 40,000 there are 3 interchangeable filters inside the gearbox attached to the valve body however there is no official service time on those. There is also Gear oil that does not have a service life so I have broke it down into 3 scenarios. DSG oil only, DSG oil and Gear oil and DSG oil gear oil and internal filters.
DSG Oil only: £226.43p Including VAT include DSG Oil, Drain and Fill plug and Labour 1.5 hours.
DSG Oil and Gear Oil: £322.92p Including VAT include DSG Oil, Gear oil , Drain and Fill plugs and Labour 2.0 hours.
DSG Oil ,Gear Oil and interchangeable filters: £799.90 Including VAT includes DSG Oil, Gear oil , Drain and Fill plugs, sump gasket, valve body gasket mechatronic gaskets, filters and Labour 6.0 hours.
