Though not necessary according to Volkswagen, ECS Tuning has included a water pump and thermostat in this kit to make sure you will not have to open your timing belt cover later on to replace. Might as well do it all when it's apart, right?

Comprehensive kit good quality installed no problems
Kit itself arrived in a well packaged box with everything in their own smaller boxes. In terms of installation, I had no issue. The timing belt kit itself is excellent quality and was easy to install considering the engine was on a stand lol. Reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I haven't had a chance to start and road test my car yet, so time will tell how good the kit is overall.
Also for the record, the bolts that come for the engine mounts are the shorter versions. Ideally for the 1.8t golf you want th M12 bolt by 65mm. These engine mount bolts are M12 by 55mm.
Comprehensive kit, reasonable price, does the job. Let's hope it lasts longer than its predecessor
