ECS Tuning Performance Engine Mount Kit - C7 S6/S7/RS7
The ECS Tuning Air to Air Intercooler Kit was designed and engineered in-house to provide you with a direct bolt-on system to improve consistency in engine performance, decrease intake air temperature, increase resistance to heat soak, and drastically lower intake air temps! The R&D team at ECS Tuning has spent countless hours creating and testing a system to optimize performance and efficiency while providing the clean look that Audi owners have come to expect. We designed the air to air cooling system to directly mate with the existing OEM piping resulting in an OEM fit but with a custom fabricated appearance.
The C7 / C7.5 4.0T EA824 is named the "hot V" for good reason. While the twin turbo V8 came with impressive power from the factory once you throw some bolt ons and software at it the EA824 becomes a true monster capable of over 700HP+ to the wheels. The turbos located on top of the engine create extreme amounts of heat especially once you upgrade them to larger units. The factory air to water system simply doesn't cut it when trying to squeeze all of the performance potential the EA824 4.0T has to offer. The factory air to water intercooler is not only small and inefficient but also located directly in front of the turbos and subject to excessive heat soak, so bad in fact that there have been cases of it melting under extreme conditions.
With this kit you ditch the factory Air to Water setup for an Air to Air design that drastically decreases intake air temps and keeps them down pull after pull. Instead of hot coolant being circulated though the air to water cooler in the engine bay you get a front mounted intercooler, FMIC, that is constantly getting cooled by air flow though the grill and is completely isolated from the engine compartment making it more resistant to heat soak. If you have upgraded your EA824 4.0T you have encountered heat soak at one point or another due to factory air to water system being undersized for higher power outputs. The 4.0T cooling system needs all of the help it can get and by removing the mostly plastic factory air to water system you reduce the amount of strain on the cooling system and one less weak link.
